Today seems to be a record for me - 3 blog posts in one day. Meh. Oh well.
One more post in the house cleaning saga before I give up for the night, I think. Maybe. I don't know. I have a feeling sleep is going to be one of those fleeting things anyway, but such is life sometimes.
The landlord showing up a day early has thrown me off somewhat. I had hoped to get more done today, but between my physio appointment, having to take a few breaks so I wouldn't pass out due to the heat, and heading out for a little bit to put a couple more bags into a donation bin and grabbing a bite to eat, it seemed like it just wasn't meant to be.
However, I have a good lot of junk thrown out now and three huge bags of stuff donated to thrift stores. I should be able to get rid of all my recyclable stuff this Friday - pop cans and garbage for the most part - which will clear out even more space in the apartment. Most of the stuff on the kitchen floor is trash to be thrown out now so it's just a matter of getting my daughter to sit on the floor and toss the stuff into a trash bag that I can then take downstairs and put into the basement.
I've also made a decision that I honestly never expected - I am going to digitize most of my book collection. Why? Because it takes up entirely too much space and I now own a Kindle Paperwhite. I will admit that I never expected to give up actual paper books, but there it is. And some of my favourite authors are only publishing e-formats these days. Not to mention that it takes up significantly less space to have everything on my Kindle or stored in some sort of cloud storage if I don't have space on the Kindle. Mind you, it has way more space on it than I do books, so there you go.
I used to have a Kobo but I ended up not really liking it. It was awkward to use, and to heavy for my buggered wrists. Not to mention that it would sometimes glitch out and the only way to fix it was to completely reset it and have to reload everything. And now that Kobo isn't owned directly by IndigoChapters anymore there's so many hoops to jump that it's just not worth it to me. I do still have the Kobo app on my computer so I can read my Kobo books on it, but that's really it.
I had tried to read books on my various phones over the years but the eyestrain made it really difficult for me. And I kept trying to collect books from authors I really enjoyed, but they were getting harder and harder to find in print format.
Anyhow, I have to clear off my bed - it's got a couple piles of clean clothing on it and I'd like to get some sleep soon. The heat has sapped my energy and I'm exhausted. Bleh.
