Another day, another post.
I sometimes wonder if I'm not being groomed to take over as either the hotel manager or the spa manager. I've already proven that I can run the hotel, and now I'm getting trained in more spa management stuff. It could be largely so I'm capable of steeping up in the event that my boss ends up going out sick before the actual spa manager returns from her own sick leave.
Yesterday my permissions in the spa booking/scheduling program were upgraded so I could do more spa management things, including removing staff from the system, updating inventory, and so much more. Next up will be arranging to do a full inventory of the spa stock because we have stuff on hand that is showing up as zero in our system. I can probably do it bit by bit for a good portion of the stock, but I found out that we have a metric shit ton of mini tubes and samples hidden away in a closet in our currently un-used vitality room...items that we could use at the hotel in the rooms, or have them on the spa counter as sample items for clients to try with the intention of encouraging them to buy larger bottles and tubes of the same stuff. More money for the spa, right?
Anyhow, I am slowly being given more responsibility and I honestly don't mind it that much. And I know that as things settle down with the staff bullshit that I will not stress out as much. Surprisingly though, I'm not at stressed as much as one would think I would be in a management position for the first time since I left security. At least I know that I have decent support instead of being thrown under the bus anytime upper management fucked up.
My wardrobe has been continuing to evolve to show my new role at work. I still manage to keep a Goth touch to my outfits for the day. Thank goodness Corporate Goth is a thing because that is very quickly becoming my aesthetic, especially for work. The lazy Goth thing I've had going on for so long is being relegated to those days I don't leave the house, and incorporate yoga pants and leggings that aren't appropriate for work. It helps to find classic pieces in the colours I love and are also appropriate for work. And once I get my craft corner sorted out at home I will be making some clothes for work as well - it's a bit hard to find a Victorian/Edwardian style jacket in my size. Or at least big enough to do up over my boobs.
Anyhow, it is after midnight here and I have to work in the morning so I'd best sign off here and get ready for bed. Maybe. I might just be tempted to fix the sleeve on a blouse that I've been meaning to fix for months...
