General Rambling Update
The CERB payouts are coming to an end and are supposed to be changing into some sort of special EI instead. I'm not sure if I'm eligible for that, but I'm hoping so because we are going into the slow period for the hotel industry. This means that my hours have gone down at work, but at least I'm getting some hours so that the brunt of paying for things isn't entirely on my kid's shoulders. Especially as they want to purchase themselves a new gaming computer - a desktop instead of a laptop like mine. Not that it's stopped me from getting a fancy gaming keyboard.
I have assured my boss that I have no intention on leaving the hotel, and that I can fill in pretty much any job that does not need a special certificate or license to do. That includes laundry, housekeeping, and more. And I pick up computer programs fairly quickly as well, which is always a bonus.
I do want to see if there is something I can do from home to make money, but I don't know what I can do. No, I've got no intention of doing something along the lines of Only Fans. That's just not my style. I have considered making some videos and posting them on YoutTube but the idea scares me a little bit, especially as I'm not a streamer or anything like that. Besides, I don't have the basic minimum equipment to do it halfway decently - I've got a decent microphone and a good headset, but I don't have a decent camera. My options consist of my laptop camera or my cellphone camera, and neither of them are all that great for making content with. I might try anyway and see what happens.
The house cleaning has basically come to a virtual stop. I clean only what is absolutely necessary for the moment. Otherwise the house is a disaster. I have all these ideas for what I want to get done, but then I don't do it. Or I will start and then get overwhelmed and stop. It doesn't help that I don't have access to a garbage bin to dump garbage into each time I fill a bag. This means the bag sits in my apartment somewhere until garbage day because there really isn't anywhere to put it in the meantime. And leaving the full bag in my apartment just frustrates me to no end, especially as they build up. Ugh.
What I'm tempted to do is get a cart of some sort that will allow me to take a couple bags of garbage at a time to the bin at work - thankfully I live really close to work! I don't know if they'd like that very much, but I know that I would not be the first employee to dump garbage into those bins. I guess this is something I'll just have to play by ear, and maybe just find a place to put my bags in the basement, despite there not really being a lot of room down there right now :/
One of my future plans involves painting my chair and love seat so that they better match my personal style. I had considered using broad cloth to reupholster them, but it might just be cheaper to get a gallon of paint and go at it that way. I'm debating what colour I want to use as the main colour for my furniture, but I've been leaning towards a dark purple as it would work nicely with black and silver on the wood pieces on the furniture, and I could still use bits of red and grey as accent colours.
I'm also planning on gutting my bedroom. This will involve completely cleaning the floor, removing my desk, finally giving my dresser to the kid, removing everything off the walls and filling in any holes, painting the walls, and then putting my bed where I actually want it, and putting my fabric wardrobe together. I may also retrieve the small desk from the basement to use as an altar in my room. And I do want to use the small white bookcase I've been holding onto for over a month as a place to store all my witchy books and bins of stuff. It will likely get painted a glossy black with green accents.
I may have mostly figured out the colour scheme for my bedroom too. I love green, purple, black, and white together, and I think that will work in my bedroom. I already use red as an accent colour in my kitchen, and I don't really want to have my entire home done in the exact same colour scheme as that might be overkill.
My bathroom is blue, grey, and white, with faux-wood walls and is looking kinda cute although I still have to finish putting the wood stickers up and finish painting the tub surround a nice shiny white. The tub is blue, which is why blue is one of the colours I'm using in the bathroom. It is also likely to be the most non-Goth, even with the skull planter holding a fake succulent plant, unless I can find Gothic bits and bobs that will fit with the colour scheme. Oh well, such is life.
I've also decided that once my bedroom has been set up the way I want it that I will be moving my antique chest into my room. It will go at the end of my bed and will likely end up holding my spare bedding, and whatever other crap I end up stuffing into it. This will mean that my coffee and end table set will be put back into proper use in the living room. Of course, it also means that the tops of these tables will be covered in black marble contact paper so they will better go with the overall feel I want for the room.
All these plans and no energy to get them started. As usual. We'll see what I can get accomplished during my days off, shall we?
