My new gaming mouse arrived today! I already had a gaming mouse from the same company (Razer) but it wasn't the one I really wanted. It had just been released so it was almost close to $200 so I went with one that was about $80. It was nice but it wasn't Chroma RBG enhanced like the one I really wanted. Then this past Christmas Eve the mouse I wanted went on price by almost 50% off...so I ordered it. Now to just get used to using it.
It doesn't have the same range of RBG options as my keyboard and headphones, it's better than just glowing green like the previous mouse. AND it has three different removable side panels that I can switch between depending on what I'm doing - two different gaming panels and one regular panel.
One big difference between regular computer mice and gaming mice is the response speed. I think it goes without saying that gaming mice are more responsive which is what you need for many games on the market these days. Yes, you can use regular mice for gaming, but if you're a PC gamer geek like me you want something more responsive. Especially when paired with a gaming computer. Yes, I have a gaming laptop that is currently paired with a gaming monitor due in a very large part to the fact that my laptop monitor is cracked and the replacement part is so far on backorder that I have a feeling that I'll have replaced the laptop with a gaming desktop before I can get my hands on the replacement monitor.
I had gotten my gaming laptop during the original 2020 lockdown and then got the gaming headset not long after. Then the gaming keyboard came about to make using my laptop easier at my desk, and then along came the first gaming mouse. This was before the laptop screen got cracked. Then I got a Chromebook for carrying around for writing purposes.
Then depression hit really badly and I couldn't even get at my desk to use my gaming set up. It was bad. It's still not great, but at least now I can use my gaming set up. I still have my chrome book set up on the desk for random things, but I've also got most of my writing stuff set up to be worked on from any device that can access my Microsoft account. It's all good in the end.
Right now I've got some tunes playing as I type up this blog entry, and went my head stops spinning and my stomach settles down I will go back to playing a game. Not sure which one yet. I've just got the Witcher series of games, several Star Wars games, and so much more. I guess we'll see what I'm in the mood for when I stop sweating half to death.
Which reminds me, I need to remember to call off of work tomorrow later tonight. I've maintained since we closed down on Friday (I was the lucky one who got to go in and cancel all the appointments for that day...woo?) that if I felt like utter shit when we were due to reopen after New Years that I would likely call out of work for at least a day or two. I'm hoping that it's not the latest COVID variant, especially because I've had issues with severe sweats and lightheadedness for a very long time. Bleh.
