A morning at the spa :)

I work at a hotel that is connected to a spa, and on the slower days (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) we can get all services, other than massages, for half price. I've been with them for a year, but never had the chance to take advantage of that particular perk. Until within the past few weeks.

We finally have an esthetician who can do artistic nails - she doesn't use tips, but uses forms to create the nail extension - and she's freaking amazing! Three weeks ago I booked myself in as her first client and got my nails done for the first time since before Christmas, and the first time where they're all gel instead of acrylic with gel polish.

Today I had booked myself in for a fill, and figured I'd also get my first pedicure with a paraffin treatment. I figured why not, right? I get half off these services when I book them on the right days, and after how shitty the past few months have been I figured that I deserved a nice treat.

I'm officially hooked now, I swear. And I plan on booking an entire day at the spa once I can afford it. Complete with a 60 minute massage to end it all off. I have never felt so relaxed and blissful as I did today while I was getting my feet done. The fact that we get to sit in a pro spa massage chair while getting a pedicure goes a long way too. For the first time in ages, my back isn't incredibly sore, and I have a feeling that on those particular tough days that I may sneak up into the spa after a shift to just use one of those chairs. It's nice to have the keys to the entire building LOL

After I was done I pretty much floated home and had a nap, and then went grocery shopping. Usually I am essentially useless after dealing with Walmart crowds, but right now I feel pretty damn good. My feet and calves feel absolutely incredible, and my toenails are properly trimmed and filed. And they're painted with black gel polish...I love it so much!

Now I'm just sort of vegging in front of my computer, contemplating watching a movie or two that I've downloaded, or maybe playing a video game of some sort.

For the first time in months, I think I can honestly say that I feel pretty damn good :)

So, I've been verbally given a three month eviction notice due to my landlord wanting to renovate the apartment I've been living in for almost 12 years. And he's made it clear that he will not entertain the idea of me coming back once the renovations are done. Yes, the place needs some work - I've been here for 12 years so wear and tear are only natural. Of course, the day he needed into the apartment was a day where the place was a state. I'd just worked my last day of a string of five days in a row and housework needed to be done. So, I didn't get everything out of the basement common area by the end of October. I got a LOT of it out, but there still remains some items that desperately need to go. I just haven't had the spoons to do it yet. Such is life when your health, mental and physical, decide to have other ideas. Obviously, I'm still working away at it all, and making progress too! A week ago, during my last two days off from work, I finally put together the free shelving thingy I got from Temu and started putting things on it. Talk about a huge difference from having things all over the counter! Organization of my kettle, various water bottles and travel mugs, spices, cereal, and other things have been accomplished and I have actual working space on the counter now. Given the space and time (and another shelving thingy at some point) I'll hopefully be able to turn the top of my mini-fridge into a coffee station and get rid of the two milk-crates I'm currently using to hold canned goods...

Ex got his ass fired on Valentine's Day...what a loser

The ex no longer has a job - he was termed on Valentine's Day. I can only wonder exactly what goes through a person's head to continue to do the same stupid thing repeatedly. Clearly he's not all that bright if it means that he has yet to learn a lesson out of all of this. But I also think he tends to think he'll always get bailed out whenever he screws up like he apparently always does. When he told me that he always loses his jobs the same way, I thought maybe he felt guilty about it all and wanted to make a change. Obviously not. Whenever I eat in the food court at the mall I work in I keep expecting his mother to approach me to ask what happened. Or to give me shit for not making her son a priority. Frankly, I'd love her to try giving me shit because I'd tell her - mother to mother - that she raised a selfish idiot who refuses to learn from his mistakes or is just too stupid to figure out that how he chooses to go on is no way to live.
