 So, I'm going to out myself and what I look like:


I'm really happy with today's look! I don't often wear makeup but I decided to go for it today. I own a LOT of makeup, most of it on the pricey side (I'm a bit of a makeup addict despite the fact I rarely wear it) and sometimes I do get the urge to wear it. I was originally only going to put on a bit of eyeliner and lipstick, but I ended up doing my entire face...including blush and highlighter. Both items I rarely ever touch but today I figured that if I screwed it up I could just scrub my face before I left for work.

So far I've been told that I look younger than I already do, and I already look really young without makeup on.

I know I could experiment with graphic eyeliner designs and stuff, and sometimes I do exactly that, but for work I don't think it's a good idea. Not until I get really good at it. Which means I do need to put makeup on more often LOL And I think I've been inspired to do so, at least on those days when I'm not expected to sweat my ass off at work!

The lipstick I'm wearing is one that I discovered was a limited release, and I have had to search the interwebs to find it again because the one in my kit is getting down to the very last of it. It is my absolutely favourite red lipstick, and I have a LOT of red lipsticks in my kit. This is the only one that doesn't have a slightly orange undertone to it. Thankfully I did manage to source out another tube of it and ordered it, but I'm hoping to find a dupe for it, even if it ends up costing more. It's not often a person finds a vivid red that looks decent on them! And yes, I checked Temptalia's website but there's no dupe recorded there. *sigh*

You would never know that I usually have dark undereye bags going on, but I've fallen upon a product by Goldfaden MD called Bright Eyes Dark Circle Radiance Concentrate. I got it in my final ipsy bag, and I'm almost scared to look up what the full-size product would cost, but if the little sample tube can do this much with only a tiny dot of product for each eye, I may end up investing in it...just priced it out, and I've paid more in the past for products that haven't worked. I see a splurge in my future!

And yes, the sides and back of my head are shaved yet again. I've been getting the same hairstyle done for at least five years now, and I still love it. I love that I can pretty much do whatever I want with my fringe - wear it down, swept to either side, or backcombed up like it is. And if I want to backcomb the rest of my hair, I can do it easily enough and I have a few styling tools and products to do this :)

I think the fact that I'm happier shows in my picture above. I'm actually smiling, like truly smiling and it shows in my eyes as well. I know I'll never be able to stop taking my anti-depressants, but I've come to accept that. Overall, however, I'm happy with how my life is going!

So, I've been verbally given a three month eviction notice due to my landlord wanting to renovate the apartment I've been living in for almost 12 years. And he's made it clear that he will not entertain the idea of me coming back once the renovations are done. Yes, the place needs some work - I've been here for 12 years so wear and tear are only natural. Of course, the day he needed into the apartment was a day where the place was a state. I'd just worked my last day of a string of five days in a row and housework needed to be done. So, I didn't get everything out of the basement common area by the end of October. I got a LOT of it out, but there still remains some items that desperately need to go. I just haven't had the spoons to do it yet. Such is life when your health, mental and physical, decide to have other ideas. Obviously, I'm still working away at it all, and making progress too! A week ago, during my last two days off from work, I finally put together the free shelving thingy I got from Temu and started putting things on it. Talk about a huge difference from having things all over the counter! Organization of my kettle, various water bottles and travel mugs, spices, cereal, and other things have been accomplished and I have actual working space on the counter now. Given the space and time (and another shelving thingy at some point) I'll hopefully be able to turn the top of my mini-fridge into a coffee station and get rid of the two milk-crates I'm currently using to hold canned goods...

Ex got his ass fired on Valentine's Day...what a loser

The ex no longer has a job - he was termed on Valentine's Day. I can only wonder exactly what goes through a person's head to continue to do the same stupid thing repeatedly. Clearly he's not all that bright if it means that he has yet to learn a lesson out of all of this. But I also think he tends to think he'll always get bailed out whenever he screws up like he apparently always does. When he told me that he always loses his jobs the same way, I thought maybe he felt guilty about it all and wanted to make a change. Obviously not. Whenever I eat in the food court at the mall I work in I keep expecting his mother to approach me to ask what happened. Or to give me shit for not making her son a priority. Frankly, I'd love her to try giving me shit because I'd tell her - mother to mother - that she raised a selfish idiot who refuses to learn from his mistakes or is just too stupid to figure out that how he chooses to go on is no way to live.
