Minor update :P

It was strange to wake up this morning and basically be able to go right to work. No having to wake up enough to leave my apartment, trudge down the hill, wait on traffic lights, and groggily punch in the front door code at work. Instead I got up, packed my pajamas into my small duffle bag, strip my bed so I could take the bedding and towels I used down to the laundry room, and then hit the front desk for my start time.

It was an interesting day though, to put it mildly. We needed rose petals for a special package and had none in the hotel or the spa, so I had to run out to buy some and couldn't find the hotel credit card (because I completely forgot where it was put) so I had to grab some cash from an envelope we hadn't deposited because the deposit box is in a locked and alarmed part of the spa that we don't have the security code for. Then it was a mad dash to a store that I hoped had some roses...they did, but only as a part of other bouquets. Those bouquets were dirt cheap so I grabbed three of them, and the roses had loads of petals so it all worked out.

I handled a lot of calls, emails, FB messages, and voice mails that were left while we were closed for three days. And I had to run over to our other property to let somebody into a room after it became necessary to move them. It was either that or refund them for their entire night.

My boss may have been onsite before I woke up this morning, but she had left by the time I woke up so I handled the day by myself. I'm glad that she trust me enough to be able to do everything by myself like I did today. I also printed out the registration sheets for tomorrow for her, and did up a shopping list as we need more roses for tomorrow night at both properties, as well as tealights because I couldn't find a single one at the hotel today no matter how hard I looked! Not to mention more strawberries for our signature chocolate covered strawberry package that we do up upon request.

And then it was time to go home.

I'd hoped that by the time I got home that the kid would have had all their things and garbage out of what is now my room, but no such luck. Most of it was out, but not enough for me to be able to set up my bed. So we worked on that together for a bit before ordering out for dinner. Once I could put my bed together the kid and I got the rest of her stuff out of the room, and I vegged for a bit on my newly made up bed.

I realized that I can make the room work with the desk still in here, but I will be removing part of it to give myself more space. That part can be fully taken apart and stored in the back of my closet for now. I'm already figuring out where I can put stuff up on the walls after I spackle and paint in here, and then the room will fully be mine. Woo! And I already have plenty of paint, but I'm not doing that until my next set of days off. The upcoming days off will be used to do laundry and finally put everything away, change my curtains, and do some cleaning around the rest of the apartment. And Wednesday night we get to figure out how to put out 14 garbage bags of stuff when we're only allowed 10 for the entire house. I have a feeling that we'll be putting bags in with our neighbours' piles if I can't manage to rent a U-Haul before the mess truly overwhelms me.

For now though, I will be crawling into bed. I'm sure my cats will appreciate that because they didn't have me here last night to curl up with. Poor, spoiled babies :P
