Packing has started in earnest now. I will be moving at the end of November one way or another.

As it looks right now, I will likely be moving in with a friend and her daughter. There is nothing affordable available for me to be able to live on my own. Not to mention that my bills have gotten a bit of out control and I will not have them back under control in time to switch them to a new place. Besides, this will allow both my friend and I to save money. Christmas is coming, and I want to save up for a vehicle so that I can maybe move outside of the city to somewhere affordable.

Surprisingly, I have managed to move pretty much all my clothing into my tiny closet in my bedroom. The 'closet' in the other room currently has my bins of fabric and sewing supplies. I have gotten rid of a lot of clothes that I don't wear at all, and I still have more to get rid of. I have a feeling that many of my doom bags are just going to end up straight in the garbage. Well, after I pull out anything I can't easily replace.

I've decided that I will not be keeping my loveseat and matching chair, or my kitchen table. My bookcases will be packed up and taken apart to make it easier to store them at my daughter's place. My china cabinet has yet to have a decision made about it, but I'd rather not get rid of it if I can avoid it. I doubt it will fit into my friend's place though, so maybe I can store it at my daughter's place too?

I have a LOT of collectibles that I will be putting into plastic bins so they can be stored at another friend's place along with my bins of fabric and my sewing machine. And whatever else I can put into plastic bins. Her basement has a tendency to flood, unfortunately, so I don't plan on storing anything packed in cardboard boxes there unless I can put them up on a milk crates.

I do have to figure out where to store my chaise lounge that I really don't use. The idea of it was great, but it's not really that comfortable for me to lay on at all. It's the angle, unfortunately. But I'll hold onto it for now until I know exactly where I'm going to land when it all shakes out.

I do know that my TV, entertainment stand, various game consoles and games, bed, and computer are coming with me to my friend's place. I'm also looking at getting my hands on a smaller desk and getting rid of the monstrosity I've been using for the past eight or so years. The idea of a desk with a hutch was good at the time my daughter and I both got them, and the price was certainly great, but in actual use they haven't been all that great. Especially as we tend to pile them up with random crap all the time, regardless of how many times we've cleaned them off.

I've also got a coffee and end table set that I will be putting outside, free to the first taker. I've had the set for about fourteen years, give or take. I got them after we got the green couch and chair set we used to have, that we bought from the Salvation Army sometime during the second or third year that we lived in this province. They aren't in horrible shape, but they can be replaced later when I have the space. They would be good for somebody just starting out. And I can always get a new set at some point that better fits my aesthetic. Or make a set.

I also have my steamer trunk that will be going with me when I move as well. It's where I will likely be storing my extra bedding, and whatever else I can fit in there. I don't have as much bedding as I used to though - I donated pretty much everything but a quilt, an afghan, and my new duvet, plus a couple of sheet sets that I bought specifically for my bed when I got it back in 2020. I also need to figure out what towels I will be keeping when I move. I have more than a single person would ever need, even if I used a fresh towel every day and only did laundry every two weeks. Many of them have been around since our first Walmart trip on the day that we arrived in the province, so it's more than time to toss them out. I figure that all I really need are four bath towels, two hand towels, and a bunch of facecloths. I could probably cut that amount in half, honestly, but I suppose I'll see when it gets down to the nitty gritty.

I won't need pretty much any of my kitchen stuff, assuming that my roomie already has everything. My Melitta coffee filter thing and French press are not things most people have so they'll be coming with me. And maybe my Magic Bullet and air fryer. I should find out if my roomie has a stand mixer, and if she doesn't I should find out if she's even got room for one. The microwave, well, that will be going into storage too. My pots and pans will be packed. Ditto for my cutlery, dishes, and other kitchen utensils. And my pile of dishcloths. Oh, and I've got a fancy griddler/panini press thing that I only paid $10 for that I will be keeping, even if it just gets packed away for now.

Thursday evening I went through my assortment of glasses and got rid of a lot of them. I currently have a grand total of six glasses - two pint glasses and four skull glasses. My cupboard is much emptier now, and will be getting even emptier because I'll be clearing out all but four of my Magic Bullet cups...I have entirely too many, and I haven't used the damn thing in at least a year.

I packed up all my witchy stuff tonight. The two boxes are beside my bed right now, and they will likely be among the items that come with me into my roomie situation. I'm not comfortable storing them somewhere randomly where I can't easily get access to them if I need something out of them.

Another thing that will be coming with me when I move is all my makeup. I don't have as much as I used to, due in a large part to buying three Morphe pallets and clearing out pretty much everything I will never use. Thanks, Ipsy, for sending me so many little samplers but a lot of the colours just were never me. Such is life though. I do have a plastic bin that should be large enough for it all, but I haven't packed it up yet because between now and the time I'll be moving is a Halloween dance, and possibly even a dance sometime in November, and I usually do wear some makeup to these things anyway.

I do have other stuff that I have to decide what I'm doing with. A couple of bird cages and at least one critter cage (I still haven't completely decided if I'm getting rid of my double Critter Nation). Shelving I got from Dollarama. My NaNoWriMo posters. And just so much more.

I have gotten down to the bare essentials in the past, such as when my daughter and I moved across the country. At least this time I'll have an actual bed instead of a quilt on the floor. This isn't going to be quite as extreme of a move, but I know that I can start over from pretty much nothing if I need to.
