COVID cleaning spree?
Never did get around to the basic wash of my floor last night...I just couldn't get the energy together to do it. However, I did it today once I finally got my ass out of bed...and after just one pass the water was disgustingly dirty. I'll be going over it again in a little bit, but for now I'm relaxing and drinking tea. The next wash of the floor still won't be the final one because the floor really is that bad, sadly. But I've got the worst of it cleaned up finally! I likely won't get the final floor wash done today though, but it's not like the floor or the cleaner are going anywhere anytime soon. I've got a special cleaner that is supposed to help restore the shine and not leave a residue behind...not sure if it will actually work, but nobody will be able to say that my floor isn't clean :P
I do still have some deep cleaning to do on my fridge, but that is easy enough to put off for now so I can work on getting my living room reclaimed once and for all. And I relocated the scrubbing heads I bought to go on my drill so that will take some of the manual labour out of the scrubbing. My knees will still hate me, but it could always be much worse!
When I moved my plastic drawers to wash, I discovered that two of the wheel had come off. I tried to put them back on but then realized that the slot they go into had completely snapped. Off came the other two wheels so the works can rest directly on the floor for now. I could move the sections around so I get a piece that still has all four wheel slots, but it is much more stable now that it is directly on the floor.
It is so nice to have a clean kitchen, especially when it is the first thing people see when they walk into my apartment. The bedroom doors are closed so nobody can see the mess these rooms contain, ditto for the bathroom, and the opening into the living room has black sheets hung as curtains. These curtains are not so much about hiding the mess in the living room, but more about keeping the heat in so I don't have to blast the heat in order to keep the living room warm enough for my parrotlet. Especially now that I don't have a working space heater that I can aim in the direction of the bird's cage. And I just love having the curtains there as they appeal to my decor aesthetic anyway.
One thing that really sucks right now is that I can't put any of my trash into the basement because somebody filled it up with their broken boxes and other assorted junk. It literally looks like somebody stood at the basement door (it's located at the side of the house on the outside) and just tossed the junk in wherever it would lay. Which is frustrating as fuck because I can't get at the things I put down there ages ago, and I can't put more of my stuff down there.
I discovered that I need six buckles, not four, on the boots I mentioned in yesterday's blog post. I keep forgetting the one that fastens at the ankles. Oh well, six it is. And I'm off to go see if I can buy the six buckles I need somewhere online! Cheerio!
