Inventory didn't suck as bad as I had feared. It probably would have gone a lot smoother if I'd been given the correct pre-count list prior to today, but such is life.

And Kelsey officially quit today. Or at least that is the impression I got from the message she posted in the store's group chat before she removed herself from it. Which was honestly one of the smartest things she's done in recent weeks. I don't know if she told Will anything prior to her message, but we were all expecting her to not come back anyway. Especially when the plan had been to start the process of terminating her employment anyway. I wish her the best in all her future endeavors, and I hope that she gets the mental help that she needs in order to properly move on in her life.

I actually ventured out this evening despite how tired I was after several long days of work in the past week. Not to mention being awake at stupid o'clock this morning. Y'see, a couple of years ago before the pandemic closed everything I'd helped friends of my best friend Jenn evict a set of problem tenants - I was mostly an advisor and provided all the necessary info for them to be able to get rid of their tenants, and also advised said tenants of their rights under the current Residential Tenancy Act in place in this province. I didn't play favourites, although I was involved on behalf of the Jenn's friends - I was there for the inspection of the place, took photos of the damages that had not been properly affected by the tenants despite them having been given ample opportunity to get the issues corrected, and provided a written statement for the owners to provide to the government representative operating as the adjudicator. And as a thank you, Jenn's friends said that they were going to take me out for dinner at some point as a thank you due to them winning their case against their tenants. Honestly, I'd thought that the breakfast they'd treated us to after they won the hearing was more than good enough, but anyhow! I enjoyed seeing them again - both of them are awesome people and I love their senses of humour as it very much matches mine. I'm very thankful to Jenn for having introduced us all :)

But now I'm absolutely exhausted and ready to fall on my nose. I do work again in the morning, but I don't have to be at work until 8am. I tell you, 6am damn near broke me this morning. It didn't help that the person scheduled to start at 7am missed the first two buses of the day and ended up not getting in until 8am...the time inventory was supposed to start. Oh joy. I'm still not entirely impressed at how that all went this morning, but at least it's over with for now. I just know not to schedule him for the next inventory day...if he's still even working with us in eight weeks' time. I suppose we'll have to see how that all shakes out in the end.

In the meantime, I'm going to crawl into bed before I pass out at my computer. *yawn*
